MK GROUP AND FINTEL ENERGIJA BUILD THE FOURTH WIND PARK

With a solemn ceremony in Štolc near Kula, the companies MK Group and Fintel Energija officially marked the beginning of works on the construction of the Wind Farm "Kula 2". Wind turbines of the state-of the-art technology are being built near the first wind farm in Serbia, "Kula", which was also opened by these companies in 2015. With a total investment of 17.5 million euros, the works are planned to be completed by the end of the year, and the Wind Farm to be put into operation in March 2023.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Zorana Mihajlović, PhD emphasized the importance of investments that contribute to the achievement of Serbia's energy goals: "By adopting a new legislative framework in the field of energy, we created conditions for increasing new capacities for the construction of the wind farm "Kula 2" we see the concrete results of the law and the direction we have set for the development of energy. We are at the beginning of the energy transition and it is necessary to view RES as a pillar of energy, which will further improve the stability of the electricity system. Our vision of a green Serbia is achievable only if we all together pursue it. The state, the public sector, private investors and citizens, because it is not a matter of one Ministry or Government, but a process that we will conduct together in the next few years and which will improve not only energy, but will affect economic growth and financial stability," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

The General Manager of MK Group, Mihailo Janković, spoke about new projects in the field of renewable energy sources. "Together with Fintel Energy, we are developing projects of wind farms and solar power plants in Serbia with a total planned capacity of almost 1 GW, with an investment of over one billion euros in the next five years. This year alone, we have started the implementation of projects involving investments of 360 million euros ", said Janković and pointed out the contribution of these investments to achieving the goal of the Government of Serbia to increase the share of energy from renewable sources to at least 40% by 2040.

General Manager of Fintel Energija, Tiziano Giovannetti, reminded that this company, together with MK Group, is a pioneer in the field of renewable energy sources and the most important independent producer of electricity in the Serbian energy market. "With three open and the fourth wind farm under construction of our joint investment in green energy projects from the wind, amounts to 163 million euros so far." In this way, we provided 238 GWh of electricity per year for the needs of 59,000 households. We do not end here and we are already planning new ambitious projects, which will additionally position Serbia on the green map of this part of Europe," said Giovanetti.

In the municipality of Kula, these two companies are also developing the largest agro-solar project in Europe and the first in the Balkans, which will confirm their leadership in the region when it comes to renewable energy sources.
